Latinidad 101: Embracing Your Latino Identity: Encanto A

What does it mean to embrace your Latino identity? In this seminar, we’ll explore Latino identity, unpacking the beauty and diversity of Latinidad. Whether you’re just beginning to reflect on your cultural identity or looking to go deeper, this session will give you some tools and a space to embrace who God has created you and how God is at work in your story.
LaFe On Campus: Encanto B

What does LaFe ministry look like on campuses across the country? In this session, we’ll explore the diverse ways Latino students are creating spaces to encounter Jesus. Through stories from staff and students, you’ll get a glimpse of how LaFe is thriving in unexpected places—large universities, small campuses, and everywhere in between. Come ready to be inspired, encouraged, and equipped to imagine what LaFe could look like on your campus.
History & Legacy of Anti-Blackness in Latin America: Alhambra Room

How has anti-Blackness shaped Latin America’s history, culture, and identity? In this seminar, we’ll examine the roots of anti-Blackness within Latin America, exploring its historical origins and the lasting impact we see today. Together, we’ll reflect on how this legacy influences our communities and relationships, and discuss a path forward as we pursue racial justice and reconciliation in Jesus’ name. Join us as we learn, lament, and take steps toward healing and unity.
Exploring InterVarsity Staff: Is This Your Next Step? Camelback Room
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to serve as InterVarsity staff? In this space, we’ll explore what it means to step into ministry with InterVarsity, sharing stories of impact, calling, and life as Latino/a ministry leaders. Whether you’re feeling a nudge toward campus ministry or just curious, this is a space to ask questions, learn about the role, and discern how God might be inviting you to serve college students across the country.
A Structured Reflective Dialogue on Immigration: Camelback Room

Immigration can be a deeply personal experience for some and a political topic for others. How can we have meaningful conversations across differing approaches and perspectives? This seminar uses the method of Reflective Structured Dialogue to facilitate a conversion around the topic of immigration. You do not need to have a personal connection to immigration in order to participate. Simply state so in the conversation. This seminar will also begin at 3 pm on Dec. 28th instead 3:30.
Participants who join this seminar must agree to:
-
share about the topic of immigration from your own personal experience and not what you've heard in the news or learned in a class or elsewhere
-
speak for yourself and not on behalf of others
-
listen with curiosity and not judgment
-
ask questions of genuine interest rather than trying to change or debate someone's opinion.
Noemi Vega Quiñones will facilitate this seminar, she brings five years of experience leading structured dialogues and both personal and professional experience in immigration.

Engaging with Parents
We know how important it is for parents to feel confident and informed about their student’s participation in LaFe24. To help support these conversations our National Director of LaFe, Orlando Crespo, has written a letter to parents, to help you share about the conference with them.
